Celine Borge, of Norway, is an LPGA rookie who graduated from the Epson Tour last year. Competing there, she competed carrying her own bag. So this year on the LPGA, a caddie is required, but Borge has held off on hiring one full-time. She has gone from event to event, hiring a local club caddie. This week at Balturol, her 11th start, it’s Corey Birch, a regular Baltusrol looper.
Borge was asked about Birch helping her read the greens on Thursday, when she shot 69 in the opening round, but she never asked for the help.
How does that not drop? 😰

“I'm not used to having a caddie. I just try to do what I've always been doing, just play my own game, and just (hire) someone to carry the bag.”
In fact, asked to name her biggest transition to the LPGA this season, Borge said it would be having a caddie. Will she consider hiring a full-time caddie that could learn her game?
“I don’t know yet,” she said. “We’ll have to see.”
